Annual Service Sunday, October 13, 2024 11 AM Featuring Rev. Dave Bailey, Jr.
We have two annual Services each year: Our Annual Meeting is held on the Second Sunday in October at 11 am, and our Christmas Service is on the first Sunday in December at 2 pm.
Held annually on the second Sunday in October, this is the gathering place for generations of people near and far.
After the 11 am service we join together as we have food and fellowship in our Picnic Grove. Covered-Dishes are encouraged but never required. Trustees provide the meat and drinks; friends and families provide the rest.
Our Christmas Service is normally held on the first Sunday in December starting at 2 pm but due to the Thanksgiving holiday, in 2024 it will be on December 8. Our speaker this year will be Bob Costello from Wesley United Methodist Church in Petersburg, NJ.
Trustees provide space heaters early in the day to begin warming up the building, but "wearing your woolies" is encouraged to keep your feet warm because there is no central heat in the building! (Just like the old days!)
Our wonderful bag-piper, Jeff MacNeill provides a beautiful serenade for us as we gather inside the building, and Special Music is always on the agenda.
Hot apple cider and cookies are served afterwards.
Many generations of our ancestors are buried in our historic cemetery. The oldest burials are pre-Revolutionary War, and include the founder of this church, Mr. David Sayres.
We do still have cemetery lots available. Please contact us for more information.
The Congregation was established in 1780, and the building was completed in 1792.
We have History Books for sale for $8 each, and Christmas Ornaments depicting the church building for $10 each. Both are available during any of our services. Or, ask one of our Trustees and they will help you at any other time of the year.
Yes, you can make a donation to use the church for your special occasion, such as a wedding, funeral, Baptism or Christening.
Please contact us for further information.
Plan to visit us during one of our Annual Services, or call or email us to arrange for a personal visit to see the interior of the church and learn more about it.
